COVID 19: OUR CURRENT PLAN Per the new executive order released on July 29, 2020: "Nothing in this order is intended to place further restrictions on religious services." We are following the guidelines released in Phase 3. 1) Limiting the number of participants 2) Disinfecting often 3) Providing handwashing stations 4) Using ionized air in our sanctuary and 5) Providing more space between children at each of our sites. The wearing of masks will be optional. Our plans could possibly change—as things have this Spring and Summer, so we will update the VBS website if information needs to be adjusted.</image:caption>

<image:title>Matt Stewart | Senior Pastor - Matt & Lori Stewart | Senior Pastors</image:title>
<image:caption>Pastors Matt & Lori Stewart became the Senior Pastors of Harvest Church on October 4, 2020. Pastor Matt’s vision for Harvest is to see the lost saved and discipled, to make local and world missions a priority, and to raise up the next generation to love and worship Jesus. Lori’s heart is to see prodigals return to Jesus and to see Harvest grow as a Holy Spirit empowered church. Pastor Matt received a Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Bethany University in Santa Cruz, California and has been an ordained Pastor for 32 years. He and his wife, Lori, began their ministry as Youth Pastors at La Mesa First Assembly in La Mesa, California (now Crosspoint Life Church). From 1992 until 2007, Pastor Matt served in various roles: Youth Pastor, Worship Leader, and Associate Pastor at International Christian Center in San Leandro, California (now Encounter Church). They moved to Virginia in 2007 at which time Pastor Matt served as Associate Pastor at Faith Alive Church, Chesapeake, while Lori started working in the Production Department at CBN. Together they planted and served from 2009 to 2018 as Senior Pastors of Three In One Church, in Suffolk, Virginia (now Relate Church). Pastor Matt and Lori have been married for 33 years and have three grown children: Chase, Skye, and Ryder. Pastor Matt loves preaching, worshiping, playing his guitars and drums, and ministering in Israel (over 25 times now!) Together, Matt and Lori enjoy going on their weekly date night, watching movies, and taking their Rhodesian Ridgebacks Nala & Bear for long walks. They love to say, “The best is yet to come” and they believe that is true for Harvest!</image:caption>

<image:title>Bill Sparkman | Associate Pastor - Bill Sparkman | Associate Pastor</image:title>
<image:caption>Pastor Bill Sparkman and his wife, Anita, have been members of Harvest Church since 1985. He has been on staff as an Associate Pastor and Elder since 1998. Although his responsibilities are varied, his primary responsibility is to provide pastoral oversight for the Children’s Ministries. He carries high expectations for what God wants to do in and through the children. He is desperate for God’s anointing, and passionate to see children’s lives transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit. He is passionate about reaching the most reachable people group…the children. Although Pastor Bill does not have a formal education related to ministry, the call of God into ministry has always been evident, and demonstrated by his service to the body of Christ. Since the age of 17, Pastor Bill’s primary involvement in other church bodies, including Harvest, was the leading of worship. When he came to Harvest in 1985, he was quickly asked to be a part of the worship team as well as provide leadership in the Royal Ranger Program. He has worn many hats over the years and strives to handle each responsibility with excellence. Pastor Bill and his wife Anita have been married for over forty years; they have five adult children, and ten grandchildren. They currently reside in Chesapeake, Virginia, within 5 miles of where they both were born and raised. Pastor Bill doesn’t have much interest in hobbies or sports. His passion is for ministry. However, he does find his greatest joy being with his family. Many Sunday afternoons are devoted to family celebrations; birthdays, holidays, Fri-days, Satur-days, and most any other day they can find a reason to celebrate. Pastor Bill’s goal for his department is to provide impacting discipleship (equipping children to reach their destiny in Christ).</image:caption>

<image:title>Skye Grishaw | Youth Pastor - Skye Grishaw | Youth Pastor</image:title>
<image:caption>Pastor Skye Grishaw became the Youth Pastor at Harvest Assembly, in March 2022. Her heart is to see middle and high school students become passionate about seeking God, and then using that passion to share the Gospel in their schools, homes, workplaces, friend groups, and community. Outside of normal Wednesday night youth services, she loves to lead students to Christ through weekend events, local outreach, missions trips, youth conventions, and just hanging out! In 2018, Pastor Skye graduated from Lee University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media. She is currently in a ministry program through Global University, to become ordained as a minister within the Assemblies of God. While serving in a local youth ministry in 2019, God called her to work in youth ministry full-time. For the following three years, Pastor Skye worked at People’s Church in Fresno, California within the youth department. During that time, she was able to gather skills within worship ministry, small groups, planning events/youth conferences, building Bible study curriculum, public school outreach through Fellowship of Christian Athletes, global missions, and community outreach opportunities. Pastor Skye was born in the Bay Area of California, but has been a Virginia resident since 2007. After 5 years of living in different states, she has decided to come home to serve at Harvest, and to be near family again! Aside from being involved in ministry, she and her husband, Uriah, enjoy spending time at the beach, the movies, with friends, and their rhodesian ridgeback, Honey. Pastor Skye’s hope is to see students fall in love with Jesus, while having the most fun possible, because life with Jesus is far from boring!</image:caption>
